back from europe

apple says, "oh, no wonder haven't seen you around lately..."

yeah, i'm back from europe!! haha.. after 2 weeks of foreign land, angmohs, insanely immensive spending *faints* and sickness (yes, can you believe it, i fell sick like 2 or 3 days into the trip) i am finally home. oh home sweet home~

and i probably did enough sitting, sleeping and eating to qualify for a top rated pig. almost every day can effectively be summed up as: waking up, breakfast, sleep in coach, toilet (and snack) stop, sleep in coach, lunch, intermittent photo stops, toilet (and snack) stop, dinner, slack in hotel room, sleep. so tell me, which part of this daily routine doesn't fit into the life of a pig. perhaps just the photo stops. sheesh.

amazingly though, i didn't gain weight in the 2 weeks at all. i wonder how, i wonder why, i thought i ate and slept alot under the blue blue sky *warbles to lemon tree tune* ok i know i'm lame...

and interestingly, i never really believed in the term "jet lag" until now. seriously, now i am such a believer. haha. i mean, how not to when i spent almost 24 hrs en route to europe and another 24 hrs back? 6 hrs doha-sg, several hours waiting in the very barren (by that i mean there's absolutely nothing to do there) airport during transit, another 8 hrs doha-europe, coupled up with all the stupid flight delays and check-in time, blah bla bla.. really, really tiring. especially when you factor in the 6 hr time difference between sg and europe. it just screws up your bio clock man. like the day after i got back, i slept at about midnight and woke up next day at around 2pm. can you tell me how i managed to sleep 14 hours after sleeping almost all the way throughout the flight back home? and 2pm here is like 8am in europe.. around the time we were supposed to have breakfast in europe.. haha.. see, jet lag is real! *duh*

weather in europe is really freakish by the way. and really, really strong UV rays. very scary. can you believe it, my sis got two very lasting souvenirs from europe.. *drumroll* 2 freckles right on the tip of her nose!! she's very mortified.. the first day when i arrived in rome, the sun was unrelentless. you just have to be out in the sun for a little while before you start feeling like you're getting burnt. and you practically can't survive without sunglasses over there, especially for people with sensitive eyes like me. all the people there were wearing sunglasses, so glam right! if i wore sunglasses in sg i think everyone will think i'm trying to act glam. haha. sigh, i think i look better in sunglasses. at least it looks that way in the photos i took. i think i'm not very photogenic, and somehow when i'm wearing sunglasses the pics always turn out better. maybe cuz they cover up part of my face. hurhur.

so the paranoid me slathered on so much sunblock every day like nobody's business in attempts to protect myself from the hot weather. but the funny thing is, i didn't really sweat much in europe at all despite temperatures of nearly 40 degrees, unlike here at home. cuz the air in europe is really really dry.. you should see how my skin dried and cracked, really disgusting. and i forgot to bring my moisturiser!! so bo pian, had to buy moisturiser at the supermarket in europe.. damn ex can.. everything in europe is so bloody expensive. *sobs*

speaking of which.. i think i must have spent alot of $$ in this 2 weeks. sigh, how not to when even a bottle of coke can cost like S$10??? yeh, quite unbelievable right.. haha so you guys better appreciate the souvenirs i got for you all!!! damn ex leh.. whahahhahhaa...
