europe pics uploaded

By popular demand, some pics from europe!! by no means exhaustive. haha. lots more where these came from. wanna see, ask me! lol.

This was at Salzburg, Austria. Hometown of Mozart. There was a wedding going on so it was quite a lively scene. The silver looking statue behind is actually not a statue, but a busker. lots of buskers all over europe who really do that for a living! tipping is a way of life in europe so i guess buskers won't starve in europe. no guarantees for asian buskers though. haha.

And this was up Mount Titlis in Switzerland. It's summer so most of the snow has melted except for the peak. despite the hot sun, its freezing up here!! its a beautiful beautiful sight though, and it was fun to climb up and slide down the snow. kinda like the slide thing they have in snow city, but way better.

Lucerne, Switzerland. Imagine how nice it is to live amidst such scenic natural beauty! and fresh, clean air. its pretty cold most of the year in europe, though. not that nice.

The Eiffel Tower. She's beautiful, isn't she? More so even at night when she is all lit up. It's very grand-looking.

Champs Elysee Boulevard, Paris. It's located near the Eiffel Tower and the French national day parade was conducted along this famous street. Lots of tourists love to take pictures in the middle of the road like i'm doing in the pic. just in front of the boulevard is a huge roundabout with no traffic lights at all. quite a dangerous place to drive, paris.

This was taken in Rome. Everything in Rome seems to be built from marble. Heard so many things about Rome and thought it would be a very romantic place, what with the Trevi fountain and all. You know, the one you throw coins into over your shoulder while you make a wish. but too many tourists there, makes it too commercialised for my liking. overall i guess Italy was kind of a disppointment.

The Vatican City in Rome, the most famous city of churches in the world, apparently. located within Rome but guarded by the Swiss. it's a pity i'm not a believer, otherwise i'd have enjoyed the vatican very much i guess. not much symbolism for me.

Like i said, Italy was kind of a disappointment. This is the famous colloseum (ok i can't remember how to spell it), the place the slaves built, and where the slaves used to fight wild animals in exchange for their freedom. according to my tour guide, if they managed to survive *i can't remember how many exactly* days facing those wild animals, they'll no longer be enslaved. poor slaves huh. its a famous place, but we only got to see the outside for a short photo stop.

Venice. kinda disappointing too, actually. i don't know why. guess it was slightly different from what i had expected. and the water stank. i wonder why? i mean, it was seawater after all.

Despite being disppointed with Italy as a whole, i was really really excited to see the leaning tower of pisa. see, i'm supporting the tower to prevent it from toppling!! hahaha...

I truly love holland. i think it's a beautiful, beautiful place. its kind of like venice cuz the houses are also built on water. but much prettier than venice. i like the style of the houses in holland, they're very unique. huge windows, small doors. my tour guide says that its cuz taxes in holland are based on the size of your door. hurhur. so the people decided to have huge windows instead, so when they need to move house or something, they remove the window and move the furniture through the huge hole created. ingenious!!

Icons of holland, the windmills!! what prove is there that i went holland if i didn't take a picture with windmills in the background?? hahaha.

Original blackforest cake served in the Black Forest in Germany. Delicious!!!
